From the AP story:

A North Dakota man has been charged with threatening to kill President Barack Obama.

Authorities say 22-year-old Eric Allen Hirchert was arrested Friday on charges that he assaulted his mother at her Washburn home, allegedly after she told him to stop making the threats.

McLean County State's Attorney Ladd Erickson said Hirchert's mother told authorities that her son had been threatening to kill Obama for about two weeks. She said he struck her after she told him to stop.

I don't know whether this particular guy made the threats he's accused of making.  What I know is that with haters out there like Glen Beck, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh, nobody should be surprised when someone makes a crazy threat on the leader of the greatest country in the world.

With tremendous power comes tremendous responsibility.   These people have fairly large audiences and, therefor, have quite a bit of power.  They have to recognize that crazy people take the crazy things they say literally.  Someone could get hurt because of they venom they spew.

Don't these people see what they're creating?  Don't they care?
