I suspect most of you saw that Duane Sand, the man in charge of Americans Against Prosperity, is doing fundraising for a possible run against Congressman Earl Pomeroy in '08.
Former Republican congressional candidate Duane Sand has been raising money for another run at North Dakota's U.S. House seat, although he said he has not decided whether to make his third statewide race.
Sand, who has been exploring a possible U.S. House campaign since September, raised $250,250 in the last three months of 2007, a Federal Election Commission disclosure filing shows.
The report says Sand has spent most of the money on professional fundraising firms and mailings. It lists $95,353 in cash on hand and $154,772 in debts through Dec. 31. Bismarck Tribune (AP)
Remember how we're all supposed think North Dakota's Democratic-NPLers are bad people because they received contributions from people who don't live in North Dakota? Turns out... most of Duane Sand's big money contributors live out of state, too. According to Sand's FEC filings, only 4 of the 128 (3%) of Duane Sand's big money contributers listed North Dakota as their residence address. So, let's recap: Nearly half of John Hoeven's million dollars in campaign contributions comes from out-of-state. Almost all of Duane Sand's reported money comes from out of state. So, if you are a gullible Republican sheep, repeat after me: Democrats are BAD because they accept contributions for out-of-state. Republicans are GOOD because they accept contributions from out-of-state.
Got it?
