Let's wait till it's all over Are you all telling me that if Obama would have won by 8 or 9 or 10 points you wouldn't be callling that a win? Puleeze! Some of us do have decency and integrity, truenob, and still support Hillary Clinton. We have two great candidates and when this is over in June we will all be working together to put a democrat in the White House. So language such as you used, quite frankly, has no place here. No one is going to steal this race. You write as if Obama is entitled to the nomination. If that is the case, then he should have won last night. He outspent her 4:1. Neither Obama nor Clinton have enough delegates to get the nomination even after the next 9 primaries. There are 9 contests left so let's them all vote and see where we are. The democratic party is not irrelevant. We are going to win in November with either Obama or Clinton. So let's all take a deep breath here. |

It is over, Stop whining! Excuse me for telling the truth spababe but Clinton supporters Listen Up! If you are willing to attack Obama about his pastor, lapel pins (that you don?t wear), accusations of elitism (while you make 110 MILLION) and continually questioning Obama ability to be president, you don?t deserve to get the Democratic nomination any more than Obama does in my opinion. Let?s all just vote for McCain if neither of the democrats can be trusted! That is exactly what the Republicans are saying and that will continue! Republicans are crossing over to vote for Hillary in large numbers and it is making a difference! All I am saying is run on the issues, tell us what you will do (this time), let us decide if you will do what you say (this time) and then let us vote! Dirty tricks designed to smear your opponent obviously worked this time despite being out spent but how does that make you qualified to be the replacement? How many of those votes are from Republican crossovers? Hillary does whatever she can to question Obama?s credibility and then says ?if you can?t stand the heat (lies and exaggerations) get out of the kitchen? at the same time she is whining about getting the hard questions or any thing they can bring up to get sympathy. She is the one who hasn?t stood up to the heat, Obama hasn?t attacked her. He is supposed to let her say whatever she wants and if tries to defend himself the whole damn campaign organization is on TV screaming that she has been attacked and unfairly treated! Makes for great TV ratings but undecided voters are making their voting decisions based on these attacks! That isn?t the way to become President of United States and if that?s the way she has to do it then she simply does not deserve to be the candidate in my opinion. That is MY opinion and you do not have the right to infer that it my opinion is because I lack decency or integrity. That type of retort is simply another Clinton crime family tactic. The Presidency is not a Clinton birthright; the power and support they garner in the Democratic Party is baffling to me but the reason for the lack of support from people like me is simple! I don?t trust them! I am embarrassed by their behavior and I think they are in politics for personal gain and ego! Stick to the issues! |

... A deep breath? Maybe. The Clinton machine is grasping at straws. All irrelevant to me as are the talking heads. As time goes on, it is amazing at how little that they know about anything except spin and ratings. Also amazing is that no one seems to bother to check out Hillary speak---same as Bill speak but more shrill. They represent why the democrats have not done well in the past 30 years. She purports to represent working class folks while the record says they are as destructive to the middle class as Bush/Reagan. They represent the Wall Street crowd. Simple as that. Truenob has it right---I suspect that he is part of a new crowd that he been holding the politicians in contempt and now sees a light. His statements have merit----I suspect that a majority of newcomers will not support Hillary and if she prevails(extemely unlikely) they will just say "politics as usual and to hell with you all." The new blood in the democrat party will not survive business as usual and will suffer immense damage with more of the DLC and Clinton machine politics. We have an opportunity to begin the process of turning our country around. It will not happen overnight and it will take far more that just Obama. But is is a beginning. I am confident that the nation will seize this opportunity and our republic will be restored. The alternative---a continuation of the past 40 years is unthinkable. |

... Excuse me, Truenob, but I've actually been in Pennsylvania. Republicans have not been crossing over in large numbers as you claim. They would have had to change their voter registrations and there was no great change from Republican to Democrat in order to vote in the primary. Truenob, I didn't infer you lacked integrity or decency. It is you who made the statement that the Clintons have no decency or integrity. You are right that their is no birthright to the presidency. In the end Truenob, we are all going to have to work together and your vitriol aside, if Obama is the nominee, I will campaign just as hard for him as I have for Hillary. In the end, if Obama is the nominee, he is going to have to figure out a way to bring the Hillary supporters into the fold and with the two of you Truenob and Big Jake, you make Obama's job that much tougher. Fully 25% of those supporting Hillary have said they will support McCain if she doesn't get the nominee. I certainly don't hope that is the case, but the kind of rhetoric you two are using certainly won't bring Hillary supporters home to Obama. Just a thought. |

I am wrong that you inferred that I or other Obama supporters lacked intergrity and I apologize for that but even if you were in Pennsylvania you can't know whether there has been crossover or not. Texas claimed well over a hundred thousand and according to Rush Limbaugh (excellence in broadcasting and impecabbly honest talk show host) many in pennsylvania did indeed crossover to vote for Hillary in order to disrupt the democrat nomination process. They interviewed two of them on his show yesterday but if that isn't onerous enough, Terry Mcauliffe was gleefully counting the votes from Florida and Michigan. Obama wasn't even on the ballot in Michigan and All of the candidates agreed on the rules BEFORE this contest. How does that fit with working together? 25% of Hillary supporters should vote for McCain because they both get their campaign contributions from the same place and that is the problem with either of them. Hillary has been in Washington long enought to have accomplished something besides the war is Iraq and NAFTA but lets at least be honest about our positions and stop the attacks about lapel pins and muslim background and elitist and pastor's! Did Obama bring up Bills indisretions during the debate or do you believe having Clintons former press secretary ask if his pastor loved America is a legitimate way to smear someone? A church is a family and just because you don't agree with the pastor on everything or even another member should you leave the church? If you don't leave your church you take what ever responsiblilty Hillary and her supporters choose to assign you? Who is being divisive? If you choose to support Hillary do so but stop whining and distorting the facts about your positions or your opponents. Hillary supporters should vote for who they want and that includes McCain but do it honestly! |
... The ABC news commentators at the debate were despicable in bringing up blog crap. I agree, but for you to put that on Hillary because Stephanopolis used to work for Bill is just pure bunk. I can see that this discussion isn't going to get any better so we will just have to agree to disagree. Suffice it to say, that I have worked in many of the primary states and the excitement on both side is exciting to watch and I am thrilled at the involvement in the democratic party. As I said, I will support with great vigor whoever is the democratic nominee because McCain is more of the Bush administration. |

facts from the Obama campaign:At most, she picked up a net gain of 12 delegates -- less than our gain, for example, in Colorado (where we gained 17) or Kansas (where we gained 14). Her gain in Pennsylvania was less than half of our gain in Virginia, where we added to our lead by 25 delegates. After Pennsylvania, we have a lead of at least 159 elected delegates earned through all of the primaries and caucuses so far. We have a total of at least 1493 pledged delegates. -David Plouffe Campaign Manager Obama for America |

... Deb, there is no way either candidate can get the requisite number necessary for the nomination. They are going to have to sit down and work this out. But it looks like Obama is also counting on the superdelegates as is Clinton. As I said, Deb, if Obama is the nominee, I will be there with bells on. But let's not forget that she has a large following and a large amount of delegates as well. |
I'm on your side sister... I was just throwing out the word from the Obama campaign, which isn't surprising considering the outcome. Whoever gets the nomination - or if it's my ideal choice, which is both - I'll work as hard as I can to get the Dems into the White House. To quote the late, the great... uh... someone... "It ain't over till it's over." |

Great side to be on for the sisterhood! Michelle Bernard states in her headline today that Clinton has her eye on 2012. She thinks that although she knows that she cannot catch Obama this time she can make him unelectable and therefore she will get the nomination 2012 when, and if we are still considered a sovereign nation after 4 years of McCain she will win the election. It was threatened in an earlier post that 25 percent of Hillary supporters will vote for McCain if she is not allowed to steal the nomination! It just ocurred to me that the same 25 percent will vote for john mccain regardless because they are republicans who voted for hillary just to keep her in the race to destroy Obama. I just watched her on the tube claiming the nomination because she has already won the popular vote. The democratics have always destroyed themselves and I think it has done a great deal of damage to the United States! Go Hillary |
... Well, trunob, I don't know who this Michelle Bernard is,but Hillary is not trying to make Barack unelectable. And trunob, I didn't "threaten" that 25% of the Hillary supporters would vote for McCain, it was the polling that was done. And trunob, I asserted that I hoped that that wouldn't happen. So please provide me with the proof that those 25% are republicans who switched sides and voted for Hillary. She's not claiming the nomination, she's making the case why she should be the nominee. At least, trunob, if you are going to make comments here be accurate about what is and isn't being said. You vitriol aside about stealing the election, you and others of your ilk are what is wrong. You feel you are being wronged because there are primaries remaining to be decided. You constantly talk of "stealing the election" "destroying Obama" and "dirty tricks" and on and on. You've been listening to Rush way too long. Maybe you ought to blog over at SayAnything, because you sound just like those guys. |
... The key result last night was that Hillary won between 9 and 12 delegates more than Obama in the last delegate rich state, other than North Carolina, where Obama is favored. She can't catch up, even if she gets on a roll, which seems unlikely. The demographics of PA were all in her favor ... older, less educated, voters in a state bordering New York, where she had a lake place as a kid. If she couldn't win a Democratic primary there, she couldn't win anywhere. Obama marches on. This is over in two weeks. |

sayanthing spababe In the end, if Obama is the nominee, he is going to have to figure out a way to bring the Hillary supporters into the fold and with the two of you Truenob and Big Jake, you make Obama's job that much tougher. the rules of the Democrats nomination were agreed on by all the candidates and now Hillary is claiming the popular vote is in her favor. All that I ask from any candidate is that they (and their supporters spababe) be honest. I fail to see how negative statements about obama's minister, bittercling, lapel pins or elitism can be useful to anyone besides the Clintons. The ads that are running against obama in north carolina are damaging and hillary hasn't even started yet! 40 years in the DemNPL is right. He is not the only person in the Democratic party that can honestly do the math of this issue we all can see the truth and hillary cannot catch up so what is she doing? Spababe wants to take the paint off of me for accusing the clintons of being dishonest but what is their real purpose in this election? Wonder if they know over at sayanthing or dakota beacon? Enlighten me as to how Hillary and Bill are helping Barack Obama be electable. |
... And all I ask truenob, is that you not mischaracterize who made the statements about religion/clinging/. I ask that you not mischaracterize that Hillary wants to damage Obama so she can run in 2012. It is the republicans that are running the despicable add against Obama with a wink and a nod from McCain and the RNC I would also remind you that if Obama is indeed the nominee, both Hillary and Bill will be campaigning on his behalf. I'm not trying to take the paint off you, I just want you to stop mischaracterizing what is happening. There are 9 contests left. We will have a candidate in June and we will all work together to get the nominee elected. I have said and I will say it again, I will support vigorously either nominee. Too bad I don't hear that from you. |
let's not get paranoid here We're all in it for the Democratic Party. If that's too tough to swallow, then can we all agree that we're all in it so that we don't see another 4 years of Bush policy? Let's drop the conspiracy theories & the fuzzy math that are most likely being thrown out by the RNC to scare both Obama and Clinton supporters, and just throw all of our collective weight behind a WIN FOR CHANGE, not just one candidtate. |

... Wow We have a cat and dog fight going. Probably a truce is in order. However, facts are facts and spin does not create facts. The Clinton spin machine has always been just behind the Rove machine but they may soon move into the front. It is sad but if you take the time to listen closely, a significant number of Obama supporters will not support Hillary. Many are new, virtually all are dissatisfied with politics as usual and want change. They do not view Hillary as change but just a new spin on establishment politics---a one party system with 2 wings. Whether they are right or not, that is what they believe. I, for one, will not longer engage in the fo-uplly of interpreting the votes and the delegates. Those facts are just that--facts. When the smoke clears and Obama is the candidate and will be the president by a large margin. Clinton just can't win the election. At that point, the opportunity will be for a sea change in policy and a new democratic majority will emerge---with a different make-up as to the rank and file. Absent that change, the democrat party is really at high risk as to being a vialble force. The Clinton/Robert Rubin wing will be reduced to just whining or moving into the republican party. Then the Democrats can give life to the claim as being the party of the people. Not the party of special interests. Obama represents a leader with real qualities that has not been seen since Bobby Kennedy. And none to soon. The fabric of our country has been stretched to the breaking point----we need a leader who can transcend the divisions and unite us. With the division that exists today, none of the real problems will be solved----war and the preparation for war, health care, the economy that serves only a small portion of our citizens and the list goes on. This is not a one man show---but one man can create the possibility for new leaders to emerge and positive change then can occur. What a great time to be an American. |
