Koch Brothers Send Junior Varsity Tracker Team To North Dakota [UPDATED] PDF Print E-mail
Written by Chet

[UPDATED X 1]

Every July 3rd, Bismarck-Mandan Democrats get together for a picnic to celebrate Independence Day. I don't usually get to attend, but since the 4th is in the middle of the week this year, I was there.

When I got there, I spent a few minutes looking around to see if Josh Hursa was there.  For those of you not familiar with the Joshua Hursa story, Hursa is a tracker who worked for a Koch Brothers Crime Family so-called non-profit based in Denver called "Revealing Politics."  He came to North Dakota a couple weeks ago and started showing up at Heidi Heitkamp events and offices, lying about who he was and what he was doing.  Long story (which you can read here) short, Hursa's fraudulent actions on behalf of his employer, Revealing Politics, got his name scrubbed from the outfit's website.  When asked by SquareState.net blogger Jason Salzman whether Josh was still working at Revealing Politics, his boss, Kelly Maher, refused to comment.

On my way to take my 2 year old to the rest room, I encountered two young men sitting in the grass, sort of hiding behind a gazeebo near the picnic shelter.  I stopped and visited with them.  They told me they were trackers from Colorado. I asked if they worked with "Josh."  They both kind of chuckled and said, "No, Josh doesn't work with us anymore."

At about that point the 2 year old was starting to get away from me, so I didn't get a chance to get their names.  But I did grab a couple photos of the Revealing Politics Junior Varsity Squad.  Here they are...  First, meet Caleb Bonham...

RevealingPoliticsJVSquad001s

Caleb's claim to fame is that he's one of only three people whose identity can be determined by using the above photo and the Google Goggles app. See, the Google Goggles app will compare a photograph with any other graphic on the interwebs, and show you all the others.  Fortunately for us, when Caleb came to the Bismarck-Mandan Dems' picnic, he brought his one and only button-down shirt, his only pair of pants (pink), and his aviator sunglasses.

Caleb's also, he might tell you, a budding comedian. Remember that comedy show Fox News once tried to do back in 2007 -- "The 1/2 Hour News Hour" -- that lasted almost seven (7) whole months before being unceremoniously cancelled?  Caleb's humor would have fit right in with the writers and cast of that canceled show.  Watch this...

"Heeeeeeeyaaaah!!!  Tip your waiters and waitresses.  Try the veal.  I'll be here all week."

*********************

The other guy -- Drew McCullough -- is only easy to find because he's credited in Caleb's 1/2-hour-esque comedy videos as being a co-producer.  Here's Drew

RevealingPoliticsJVSquad002s

That's Drew trying to fit in by vigorously clapping at the end of Senator Kent Conrad's talk.  Drew's claim to fame is that he was a server at Buca di Beppo and attended Ham Line University.  He felt most comfortable, at the picnic, standing far from Caleb and close to the grill with the other servers.

According to the Revealing Politics website, "Drew has worked with new media, including audio, video, and internet, for over the past ten years." [sic]  Drew and Caleb were also in North Dakota on a recruiting trip, looking for a new website copy editor.

If you see these guys following Heidi Heitkamp and/or Pam Gulleson around at parades, picnics or events, stop by and welcome them and all their Koch Brothers Crime Family money to North Dakota.

Oh, and -- if you can -- please get me their names so I can give them a proper welcome, too.

Happy Independence Day!!!

In the arena of bottom feeding dirty tricks politics, demcrats are just not in the same league with Republicans. A reflection of those who are convinced that what they believe is right and whatever it takes to win is acceptable. So much for any fundamental belief in demcracy or our form of a demcratic republic. Like Romney, they seem to think that this is "their" country but it is limited to whom God has chosen to be the ruling class. A delusion so immense that it defies all logic. But there it is.

It is our job to assist in making this a country for all of us---these low down dirty bastards too.

This election is a defining moment although we have had many. It is the real difference politically, philosophically, intellectually and yes spiritually, between those who think they are the annointed ones and the rest of us. It really is time to step up to the plate and stand for something. When the democrats are weak here, push and prod them into being more than themselves or what to do to win votes.

Maybe not immediately but over time a strong postiion of the issues of the day will demonstrate our commitment to our country and the well being of all of us. That is what the 4th of July is all about.

Sorry, too many explosions yesterday. Perhaps we should praise the civic-minded Koch brothers for creating jobs for marginally employable young men (inferred to be the children of card-carrying Republicans) who don't have critical-thinking skills and don't want to develop them.

Honestly this happens on all sides. And I really don't care. I DO care that he lied and said that he was a volunteer. But if they come out and say what they are doing like the other two gentlemen...who cares. What's different about them and the person who went after Berg on the minimum wage? That was obviously done to try to ensnare him. And you used it in several stories. But here you complain about how they are paid to do it. I would be more worried if both sides started doing more of this:

Jason, you are clearly enveloped in situation ethics. That changes your status from having corrupt ideas or the lack thereof, to being "ethically challenged". You must see the distinction.

You would be hard pressed to criticize any of the Democratic candidates on ethical grounds. Give it a try. I differ from in particular Heitkamp on policy and just opinion grounds but not ethical.

Berg and all of his ilk cannot even come close to being able to state that. The Gov. should be challenged on the pasta deal. It stinks and as a rich boy, he got richer on the backs of durum farmers. They all represent an elite class and what is happening in the oil patch is reflective of that fact.

Jason, give it a try. Defend them. Come up with some rationale that justifies their actions. Please share with us something good for their fellow citizens that they have done of even supported.

Blinders are a tough thing to shed. For the good of our state and nation, that is precisely what must take place. Most of you are guilty of suspending thinking in favor of reaction or beliefs. You cannot govern or manage a nation under those conditions.

Heitkamp and her fundraising can raise enough questions on it's own. It's easy to look at Republicans in North Dakota and look at their records compared to Democrats. It's because Democrats have NO RECORDS. There are hardly any.

Unless you count the corrupt three. Pomeroy, Dorgan and Conrad. Well that's as deep as ever. especially as we are seeing now.

But I'm talking in particular about this article. And about who cares if trackers are going after candidates.

It is a sad fact of political life that little choice exists as to fund raising. No contest has ever existed as to the vast superiority of their dirty tricks.

Our focus should be on a corrupt Supreme Court that has opened the flood gates and it was predicable.

The Democrats had better get with the program and use the Republicans own arrogance and corruption as a political weapon and keep on until this whole anti-American election finance system is torn down and replace with one that furthers the cause of liberty.

When using the standards that we have been told are the right ones, Conrad, Dorgan, Pomeroy have damn good records on their own. Far better than any of the current crop of phony conservatives. With that said, their accomplishments are truly small when one considers the gravity of our current economic dilemma and that has been growing for decades. Reagan began an era of massive transfer of wealth from the many to the few. Conrad, et. al. did nothing to stop that however the Republicans have been the beneficiaries not only in ND and the USA but around the world. Obama has done little to stop it.

Jason, you seem to be a part of the group that is so misguided that either you think this is good or you have been duped into thinking that eventually, you might be one of the new rich. Don't get your hopes up.
